Hobie Porter is a contemporary landscape painter focused on place and environment. He lives & works in the Tweed Valley, North-Eastern NSW. His most recent solo exhibition, Mountain Shadow, was shown at Arthouse Gallery in 2024. He has participated in numerous curated exhibition contexts, recently including Hobie Porter: The Last Decade, Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery (2018), The North Head Project, Manly Art Gallery & Museum (2017-18)  and Assemble | Disassemble, Caboolture Regional Gallery (2015).

Hobie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) with Honours (Contemporary Art) in conjunction with a Henry Lawson Scholarship program, and a Graduate Diploma of Education. He has been exhibiting regularly since 2004 and teaches Visual Art at TAFE NSW, Murwillumbah Campus.

His work is held in numerous public collections, including Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery, Warrnambool Art Gallery, Tweed River Art Gallery, Manly Art Gallery and Museum, Mosman Art Gallery and the Byron Bay Hospital. Hobie is represented by Arthouse Gallery, Sydney and Flinders Lane Gallery, Melbourne.
